I had no idea what Greenwich was. No clue. However, once we took the boat over there, it was my favorite place we went the whole trip. It was stunning with greenery and structure. There was a lot of symmetry, especially in Greenwich Park, which made my OCD very happy. It was just visually gorgeous, and when you have no expectations going into somewhere like Greenwich, it's a pleasant surprise.

As soon as we docked, we met our tour guide, the adorable Gill. She took us over to the famous ship, the Cutty Sark. She was the fastest tea clipper of her day, and she is well preserved today with only some new metalwork helping her stay together. We looked in the rooms on board and the beds, which resembled shelves more than beds, were extremely short and cramped...not meant for anyone taller than 5'2''!

After the Cutty Sark, we made our way to Greenwich Park to see the what used to be a royal palace, then the Royal Naval Hospital, but is now the Old Royal Naval College. This area is a "movie hotspot" as Gill said, used for scenes from Les Misérables, The King’s Speech, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Dark Knight Rises.
We went in to the church on the grounds, which just so happened to be the church from Four Weddings and a Funeral! As we stood outside the church, we looked down what looked like a quad from an American university with the Queen's House in the background. We went inside her house, and it was exquisite!

After the Queen's House, we made the trek up to the Royal Observatory which the most wonderful view of London. While we were up there, we went through the National Maritime Museum and stood on the Prime Meridian with one foot in the western hemisphere and on e in the east.
If you ever get the chance to visit Greenwich, please do. I recommended it to all my friends and family, and I couldn't stop talking about it when I got back to the states. It's unlike any place you'll ever visit. If you're interested in going, they have a section of their website that will plan out different itineraries for you depending on what kind of adventure you like. They make it easy, so all you have to do is have a good time!
